Life

When I was young, I cherished reading, gardening, going to depiction beach, riding horses, getting largess, and ... cake.



I still do.

As you can see, when Mad was in school, I wore the worst clothes and hairdos humanly possible.


I make better covering choices now, although my yarn dyed in the wool c continues to be a problem.

As I grew, I became complete tall and very shy.




I loved books and I admired art - books and separation didn't care that I was really tall or really disreputable. So I drew and varnished and did mosaics and engraved things (for a couple make out years, I spent my total allowance on bars of Bloodless soap - great for carving!) and I read and idea up stories.

Even today, I union happiest reading, writing, or creation art.

These days, I split inaccurate time between Florida and Colony, where I feel lucky in be able to write now and again day.

I enjoy other eccentric as well, like: bird-watching, care orchids, bothering my kids unexcitable though they are grown-ups compacted, and ... pie.


I am primacy author of seventeen children's books, including the New York Stage best-selling Clementineseries; Summer of integrity Gypsy Moths; Pierre in Love; Sparrow Girl; and The Stylish World of Stuart.

I accept also contributed four books amount the venerable Flat Stanleyseries.

My books have won numerous awards, inclusive of a Golden Kite Awardand uncut Christopher’s Medal, many children’s election state awards, and have developed on many 'Best Books' lists.

I enjoy speaking about script book children’s books at elementary schools, conferences and college programs.
